Sri. Krishnan Kutty, Marketing Manager of Amrita Vishwa VidyaPeetham, Ettimadai campus conducted a Personality Development Class for senior secondary students of AV Koyilandy on Novemeber 29, 2011.
Krishnan Kutty M.S. better known as KAY KAY (KK) hails from the district of Palakkad, Kerala state. KK had his initial schooling at both Kochi as well as his native place Pudiyankom and completed his AIHSE (X1) CBSE, from KV HVF, Avadi, Chennai in the year 1975. KK graduated in Economics from Loyola College in 1978 and went on to complete his PG from Presidency College, Chennai in the year 1980. As early as 1979 KK worked for RHL (now known as P& G) as well as Taj Coromondel hotel Chennai adopting EARN WHILE YOU LEARN POLICY.
KK’s serious start up of the career was with AVERY INDIA LTD in the year 1980 KK Joined Avery, a UK based company, as a live wire sales man in the market of Madurai. In 1985 KK was transferred to Chennai to take care of industrial markets and was promoted as Sales Supervisor (IMP) and then as Branch Manager Trichy in the year 1988. Having served as BM Trichy, K opted to move out of direct selling to retail selling and joined J & N leading paint company in the year 1990 as their Area Sales Manager, Coimbatore.
With combination of both direct and retail experience of over 12 years, he was offered an opening with struggling MRF in the year 1992 as Asst District Manager, Hyderabad taking charge of entire sales and administration responsibilities of Andhra Pradesh State. KK was promoted in the year 1996 as District Manger and posted to Bangalore to take charge of Karnataka Market.
In 2000 KK was taken by JK Tyres as Regional Manager East, to improve sales of their tyres and posted to Kolkatta to cover the entire eastern market.Though a short stay with JK, KK was summoned by TVS Tyres Madurai as General Manager, Marketing, in the year 2000. KK took the company from a meager 80 crore company to 300 crore company within a span of 5 years.
It was during this tenure that KK came in contact with the students of Thiyagaraja School of Management and opted to help the students of MBA in new trends in Marketing during Sundays and holidays and KK developed the zeal and passion to get into the field of coaching. During his tenure as GM Marketing he has travelled to all the 28 states of India as well to all the districts of Kerala, TN, AP and Karnataka. In 2005, KK left the lucrative job with TVS to take to training. It was during one of the training sessions with AMRITA UNIVERSITY, KK was absorbed as advisor, Career Counselor for the university and he is associated with them since last couple of years. KK understands and speaks 6 languages and updates his knowledge in different fields through net working. KK has friends ranging from 3 years to 90 years and loves to interact with all for pass time. KK is married to Mrs Usha a financial Consultant with HDFC Bank and have two daughters Sandhya with KFC and Swapna 2nd year student of B.com with GRD College, Coimbatore.
KK as a service from the university of AMRITA does workshops for the field of education, includes Principals, Teachers and Students orientation. KK is on a self research on the subjects like, mentoring student teachers, Motivation to students, Life style of 3rd generation students and many other subjects on Mahabharata as a management technique .
KK feels his secret of success in his work shop is “ENGAGEMENT WITH PARTICIPANTS“. KK is humorous in his work shop and the smile, the happiness and the inspiration that he gets out of the classes do not make him tired and have stood little over 7 hours a day with no feeling of fatigue.
